dc.descriptionThe overall goal of the project is to support the adoption of an integrated ecosystems approach for the management of land resources in the Kagera Basin which will generate local, national and global benefits including: restoration of degraded lands, carbon sequestration and climate change mitigation, agro-biodiversity conservation and sustainable use and improved agricultural production, and thereby food security and rural livelihoods. The adoption of improved land use systems and resource mana gement practices by the range of land users will be supported by stakeholders at all levels and by participatory and inter-sectoral approaches.
