Seeking to evaluate the growth and the production of tilápia nilótica (Oreochormis niloticus) they were tested in nurseries of 100 m2 three production systems in association with the pirarucu (Arapaima gigas), with the following relationships among the fish 120/5, 150/10 and 160/15. the first presented better results, so much in the tilápias production as in the earnings of weight of the carnivorous fish. It was observed that the tilápias association with the pirarucu was shown viable and it can be constituted in a method in the control of the tilápias population.
