Embryo biopsy is a promising technique applied in the context of in vitro embryo production (IVP) and is used as a tool to obtain viable genetic material for preimplantation genetic testing. Genomic selection is an approach that positively contributes to animal genetic improvement, since from the biopsied embryo it is possible to obtain genomic information for selecting embryos to be transferred and, consequently, superior animals. In cattle, trophectoderm biopsy is already adopted in some breeding programs, mainly in Europe, avoiding pregnancies from embryos that do not have desirable genetic traits. This study aimed to evaluate 20 biopsy samples from bovine embryos produced in vitro, focusing on the analysis of the quantity and quality of the DNA obtained, based on electropherograms of the samples submitted to whole genome amplification.
