Descripción

Soybean root and stem rot caused by Phytophthora sojae Kaufmann &Gerdemann is currently one of the main diseases of this crop in Argentina. Cineticgrowth in vitro of isolates of P. sojae from different locations from PampeanaRegion, in liquid medium, under static and shaking conditions, was studied, inorder to compare some physiological characters of isolates from local populations.Dry weight micelium progress curves showed variation between the isolatesstudied, in total biomass reached and lasting period of each lap. These differenceswere not related with geographical origin. Total biomass showed no differencebetween static and shaking conditions, however the period to reach the maximumvalue was longer in the former. It was determined that 6 to 7 days of culture instatic conditions and 4 to 5 days in shaker is the optimun time for myceliumharvest
