Descripción
The eradication of hunger and poverty is one of the most pressing challenges of our times, as recognized by the first two Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). In Liberia, food insecurity affects 80 percent of the population, and most of the poor live in rural areas. The impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic and lockdown measures are exacerbating the challenges to end hunger and poverty in the country.
This flier highlights the pressing need for increased responsible agricultural investments in the country, the importance of abiding by the CFS Principles for Responsible Investments in Agriculture and Food Systems, and FAO's activities in the country. This work is supported by Germany and the Flexible Funding Mechanism resource partners.
