The main objective of this project is to develop a globally harmonized forest-related national monitoring, assessment and reporting (MAR) system to contribute directly to the improvement of sustainable forest management (SFM) regimes in the Asia-Pacific region. An allied objective of th e project is to enhance the use of the MAR information in national decision-making, formulation of effective forest policies, and sustainable forest management and planning
