Bangladesh faces overlapping climate, environmental and economic shocks that are undermining agriculture-dependent livelihoods and food security, particularly among smallholder farmers, coastal communities and displaced populations, including Rohingya refugees in Cox’s Bazar.The Emergency and Resilience Plan (ERP) 2026–2028 outlines the integrated response of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) to protect productive assets, restore food production and strengthen resilience. Combining anticipatory action, time-critical agricultural assistance, strengthened animal health and disease surveillance, nature-based solutions, cash-based support and enhanced evidence and coordination, the ERP bridges emergency response with recovery and longer-term agrifood systems transformation.With a funding requirement of USD 79.6 million, the ERP aims to support 764 600 households through coordinated, risk-informed interventions that reduce vulnerability and sustain resilient, climate-adaptive food systems.
