Exposure Reduction Program (ERP) is a part of the risk communicationa nation-wide program concerned with and behavioral Communication change forrelated to safe and contained poultry slaughter in households. As the ultimate goal of ERP is to achieve behavior change to communicate with the target audience at household sector the procedure to apply Safe poultry Slaughter to reduce human exposure to High Pathogenic Avian Influenza virus (HPAI) which could be transmitted during manual poultry slaughter practised massively and traditionally in Egyptian houses, thus to mitigate this identified risky animal human interface a national outreach behaviour change communication campaign was designed and applied with the desired outcome of raising the public awareness for few but key effective and protective slaughter behaviours represented in containment of the immediately slaughtered bird in a closed domestic container till the bird death struggle is totally completed. The target audience of the campaign are households practicing manual bird slaughter, especially women and kids.
