Descripción
Currently, nearly one in two Afghans do not have adequate means to produce or access food for themselves and their families each day. Around 80 percent of them are farmers and herders, whose lives, livelihoods, food security and incomes depend on producing food. Every USD 1 to protect rural livelihoods saves around USD 7 in additional humanitarian assistance, generates further income for Afghan families and puts food in local markets.
