This work represents a first step toward identifying landscape compositions that can enhance multifunctionality while ensuring sufficient nutrient provision for crop production. Our case study focuses on the area of Niakhar in Senegal. We begin by presenting the land use and land cover map produced for the study area. We then describe the segmentation of the territory into several landscape units and the measurement of different indicators related to agroecology and food security for each of them. The third part presents the results regarding the degree of agroecology of each landscape and examines its relationship with food security. This report presents non-calibrated simulations of agroecology and food security, with the aim of exploring the potential of the methodology in the context of the Niakhar area. The calibration and validation of the models will be carried out in subsequent work.
