This practical handbook provides structured and detailed guidance for Codex Members and Observers on the submission of pesticide/commodity combinations for evaluation by the Joint FAO/WHO Meeting on Pesticide Residues (JMPR) and the subsequent establishment of Codex Maximum Residue Limits (MRLs). It describes the nomination process administered by the Codex Committee on Pesticide Residues (CCPR) through its electronic Working Group on Priorities and outlines the documentation, procedural steps, and indicative timelines required for consideration. The guideline aims to facilitate the preparation of complete and technically robust submissions that support the development of science-based Codex MRLs.
