The Africa Sustainable Livestock 2050 initiative (ASL2050), under the guidance of a National Steering Committee comprising representatives of the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries, Ministry of Environment and Forestry and the Ministry of Health, has designed and implemented an expert elicitation protocol to assemble information on selected zoonoses and on antimicrobial resistance. The protocol was designed to gather the data needed for measuring the impact of zoonoses on society in monetary terms. This brief presents the results of the ASL2050 expert elicitation protocol on zoonotic diseases in Kenya, as validated by stakeholders.
