Descripción
Despite the demand for labour in agriculture and rural areas, as well as the economic reforms implemented in recent years to support youth involvement in agriculture, unemployment remains one of the most pressing issues in Georgia. The agricultural sector is faced by various challenges, such as inefficient farm structures, excessive land fragmentation, small average farm sizes, an aging farmer population, and a lack of innovative technical expertise and financing. The aim of the project was to support efforts to unite existing organizations, institutions, universities, research institutions, non-governmental organizations, government agencies and private-sector actors that work in the agriculture, food and rural development sector in rural and urban areas, and that serve as a platform for connection, collaboration and knowledge-sharing for young people.
