In the past month, prices of staple foods have remained relatively stable; however high prices remain a concern, particularly for vulnerable population and very poor households. The overall food security situation has remained stable across Nepal. This is mainly attributed to a good harvest of winter crops and employment opportunities generated by development aid. Localized natural disasters have resulted in moderate and high levels of food insecurity in some districts. The Government is a ssisted by international agencies to support vulnerable populations in accessing markets and food through cash and employment programmes.
