Resumen

Descripción

Belarus is a country in the centre of Europe with approximately half of its area covered by forests. It has a large number of lakes with unique wetland landscapes that are home of many endangered species currently threatened by the impacts of climate change, such as more frequent droughts and water scarcity. Agricultural production is an important sector of Belarus economy. In addition to a National Strategy to implement UNCCD (approved in 2015) and having set national voluntary LDN targets, the country has recently approved the National Action Plan to prevent land degradation for 2021–2025, which provides a clear and comprehensive framework to achieve LDN in Belarus.
