As the UN agency mandated to coordinate the celebrations of International Mountain Day, FAO every year produces fact sheets and posters in the 6 UN languages. This material is produced by the Mountain Partnership Secretariat housed in the Forestry Department. The Activity contributes to Outcome 203 - Stakeholders endorse/adopt international (including regional) instruments and support related governance mechanisms for sustainable agricultural production systems.
The fact sheet will highlight the IMD 2018 theme “Mountains matter” through an infographic with the relevant data on biodiversity, population, food insecurity, disasters etc. as well as provide recommendations.
