Ontheinternationallevel,bothactivitiesplannedonanacademiclevelandthoseplannedbythebusinesssectortofomentuniversity-productivesectorrelationsareonthein-crease.Also,onanationallevel,theneedforthegrowthandstrengtheningoforganizationsre-quirestakingintoaccountthisparadigm,andthebenefitsgeneratedbyinter-organizationalreference,speciallywhentheserelationshipsarewelldefinedandsupported.Inthisframeofreference,thisarticleattemptstoaddressthethemeofuniversity-privatesectorrelations,spe-cificallyanalyzingthemodalitiesofcooperation,asavalidalternativeintherelationsbetweenthesesectors.Recentdebatesontheroleofuniversitiesandtheincreasingconsciousnesswithintheproductivesectorfavoringthegrowthofthesejointrelationshasincreasedinterestincooperationandexchange.Forthisreason,thisarticlehasthepurposeofpresentingatheoretical-methodologicalanalysisthroughargumentationandtheconstructionofatheoreti-calsysteminrelationtothetopicofstudy,basedonexistingreferences.Theconclusionin-cludesproposalsthathopefullyapproachtherelationshipthatshouldexist,basedonwhatdoesexist,inthehopeofstrengtheningrelationsbetweentheuniversityandtheproductivesectorinordertoachievemutualcollectivebenefitsandtoproducenewsourcesofknowledgewhichsatisfyneedsfromeconomic,social,political,culturalandeducationalviewpoints
