This brief examines how improving animal health can serve as a practical, climate-responsive strategy to strengthen livestock productivity, resilience, and methane-emission efficiency in Kenya. Using findings from a national participatory prioritization workshop, the brief identifies key endemic livestock diseases and management challenges affecting pastoral, semi-intensive, and intensive production systems. It further highlights the importance of integrating animal health interventions with feed systems, genetics, and management practices to support climate adaptation, food security, and sustainable livestock development within Kenya’s climate policy framework.
