KLÍMAVÁLTOZÁS ÉS EGYÉB KÖRNYEZETI PROBLÉMÁK – NÖVEKVŐ PRUDENCIÁLIS KOCKÁZAT VAGY ÁTTÖRÉSI LEHETŐSÉG A BANKOKNAK?

| dc.description | A környezeti fenntarthatósági problémák és azon belül a klímaváltozás negatív hatásait egyre jobban, számszerűbben ismerhetjük. E fenyegetettség a természeti környezet és a bankrendszer kapcsolatának újragondolását is igényli. Amellett, hogy szükségesnek mutatkozik, hogy a hitelintézetek, mint finanszírozók a környezeti fenntarthatóság megvalósításában is markánsabb szerepet játsszanak, nagyobb figyelem irányul arra is, hogy a környezeti anomáliák a bankokra nézve többféle csatornán növekvő pénzügyi kockázatot is jelentenek. Bár Magyarország nem tartozik a klímaváltozás által legdrasztikusabban érintett országok közé, a környezeti problémák valamint a környezeti fenntarthatóság megteremtése hazánkban is igen jelentős kihívást jelent. A tanulmány bemutatja, hogy a megoldások konkretizálásához azonban első lépésként a vállalatok környezetterheléssel, különösen üvegházhatású gázkibocsátással kapcsolatos adatainak közzétételi, jelentési rendszerének kiépítésére lenne szükség. ---------------------------- The negative impacts of environmental sustainability problems and in particular climate change are increasingly understood. This kind of risk requires us to rethink the relationship between the natural environment and the banking system. On the one hand, it seems necessary that banks as financers play a larger role in ensuring environmental sustainability, and on the other hand, there is an increased attention on the financial risks that are driven by environmental anomalies via a number of channels. Even though Hungary is not among the countries most affected by climate change, environmental problems and sustainability in general do pose a serious challange in the country. In order to find the solutions a first step would be to establish a reporting and disclosure framework for firms' environmental footprint and especially for their CO2 emissions. | |
