This project is inspired by epiphyte plants. Epiphytes are typical in urban environments as the competition for available space is high, both for plants and for buildings. This design converts a site into a public square and park with a traditional market on the ground floor.</p> This poster is one of a selection of entries from the TREEHOUSING International Wood Design Competition that was run by FAO and DBR | Design Build Research School on the occasion of the XIV World Forestry Congress in Du rban, South Africa, in September 2015.The competition challenged architecture students, professional architects and designers to develop innovative and sustainable wood housing and urban building solutions.
