dc.description.This paper presents crop budgets for the most important grain and cash crops grown in the Aral Sea region of Uzbekistan. This region, comprised of the Autonomous Republic of Karakalpakstan and Khorezm Oblast, are 100% irrigation, and are still largely farmed via control system inherited from the USSR. The presented here are a first attempt to assess profitability of the most important crops grown dependent on a command and crop budgets . " the relative in the region, and to try to estimate the effects of the severely distorted prices faced by farmers.
