In this paper, a nested logit model is set up according to the options available to households for tap water treatment (e.g., boiling, filtering, and purchase of bottled water). The nested logit model yields parameters for a welfare estimation which determines the benefits from safe drinking water to households in the state of Espírito Santo, Southeast of Brazil.
