FAO China ECTAD Highlights in September 2018 - Ms Yu Qi and Dr Han Zifeng from FAO China Emergency Center for Transboundary Animal Diseases (ECTAD) Office participated in the Regional Workshop of the Third Regional Technical Consultation on Zoonotic Influenza Surveillance in Asia in Bangkok, Thailand from 10-13 September 2018. The four-day Workshop brought together more than 40 participants from FAO headquarters, Regional Office for Asia and the Pacific (RAP) and eight country offices.
-The fifth module of the fourth cohort of the China Field Epidemiology Training Program for Veterinarians (CFETPV) was held in Qingdao, Shandong Province from 10-20 September 2018. The two-week training was attended by 26 trainees from 16 provincial and municipal animal health agencies, one university and two national research institutes. It was the final module of the fourth cohort and aimed to help the trainees to strengthen and integrate the knowledge of veterinary epidemiology learnt in the past two years.
-China Field Epidemiology Training Program for Veterinarians (CFETPV) fourth cohort Graduation Ceremony and the sixth CFETPV Annual Seminar were held in Qingdao, Shandong Province on 21 September 2018. Dr Ma Hongchao, Director General of China Animal Health and Epidemiology Center (CAHEC), attended the ceremony and gave a speech on behalf of the Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Bureau, Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs (MARA). Teacher representative, Prof Dirk Pfeiffer and trainee representative, Mr Hu Mingming were also invited to share their achievements gained from the training.
