Organic seafood products are a sector which compared to other food products is still in its infancy. Organic aquaculture is described, covering standards, species, and products in the different producing countries. In this connection the possibilities and the major restraints are described. Ecolabelling based on sustainable capture fisheri es is part of the analysis. The intention of the report is to assist producers in developing countries to take advantage of this niche market and be informed on basic requirements and trade channels in the dominant markets.
