| dc.description | The ad hoc Working Group on the evaluation of shrimp resources in the southern division of the CECAF region met at the Centre de recherches océanographiques, Abidjan, under the chairmanship of Dr S. Garcia of the Centre de recherches océanographiques de Dakar-Thiaroye. This meeting was organized by the CECAF Project in order to assess the state of exploitation of shrimp stocks in the Ivory Coast-Congo sector and to recommend management measures. In view of the management meetings proposed during the 5th Session of CECAF in Lomé in March 1977 (Resolution CECAF/V/2, CECAF, 1977 b), the Group particularly examined the stocks of shrimps off Nigeria and Cameroon. The CECAF Project would like to express its gratitude to His Excellency the Minister of Scientific Research of the Republic of Ivory Coast and Mr H. Rotschi, Director of the Centre de recherches océanographiques, Abidjan, for their cooperation in making it possible for the Working Group to meet in Ivory Coast. | |
