| dc.description | Haiti is facing an unprecedented humanitarian and security crisis, with 51 percent of the population – 5.7 million people – experiencing acute food insecurity. Internal displacement has doubled in one year, reaching 1.4 million people, and forced returns are increasing.FAO is launching a 2026–2028 Emergency and Resilience Plan aimed at addressing the immediate needs of the most vulnerable while restoring the strategic potential of the agrifood sector as a driver of stability and economic recovery. The Plan is structured around three components: (i) emergency agriculture, (ii) resilience and (iii) evidence and coordination, with interventions targeting the most vulnerable populations, particularly women and youth. Over the three-year period, FAO plans to reach 172 000 households (860 000 people) with a required funding of USD 107.9 million. | |
