dc.descriptionThe report of the proceedings of the consultation which took place in Bangkok, Thailand from 4 to 6 July 2000. Experts from Bangladesh, China, India, Japan, Malaysia, Nepal, the Philippines, Sri Lanka, Thailand and Viet Nam, as well as representatives from FAO, the Asian Development Bank (ADB), the Asia-Pacific Seed Association (APSA) and the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD), attended the meeting which was organized by the FAO Regional Office. Crop diversification hold s the key to improving food production and the incomes of resource-poor farmers in Asia and the Pacific without damaging natural resources. This publication includes summaries of reports on crop diversification experiences in the ten countries and the recommendations made by the meeting.
