This toolkit contains a series of factsheets introducing the concept of allocated zones for aquaculture (AZA) and presenting a kit of useful tools for the identification, establishment and management of an AZA. The aim is to share existing knowledge on AZAs in order to maximize their beneficial effects in the Mediterranean and the Black Sea.
The contents of this toolkit are based on the results obtained through the effective implementation of existing AZAs and they are tailored to the specificities of the region. This toolkit is addressed to policy-makers, regulators including marine planners, non-governmental organizations, farmers and producer associations, local stakeholders and to all coastal zones users in the Mediterranean and the Black Sea.
