The Global Symposium on Soil Compaction (21–23 September 2026, Aarhus, Denmark) will provide a multidisciplinary platform to advance understanding of soil compaction as a major driver of land degradation. It will bring together scientists, practitioners, policymakers and other stakeholders to exchange knowledge on impacts, assessment methods, prevention and mitigation strategies. Outcomes will feed into FAO normative work, international processes, and global efforts to avoid, reduce and reverse soil and land degradation.
