Prices of cassava and maize have sharply increased in recent months. Imported rice prices in local markets are more than double the international prices. Insecurity continues to negatively impact food security conditions with major consequences particularly for internally displaced persons and returnees. Civil strife and high food prices are major causes of high levels of food insecurity; agencies agree on severe food insecurity conditions. International organizations support vulnera ble groups to improve agricultural production and markets in the country.
