Each item of the agenda was introduced by a lecturer, following which discussions were held using as basis the "Working Paper". This working paper was, therefore, modified in light of the discussions, and can be taken to reflect, in the opinion of the participants, a true picture of the problems and constraints of traditional fisheries development in the Southwest Indian Ocean. The conclusions and recommendations of the Workshop were discussed and adopted on the last day, for submission to the C ommittee for the Development and Management of Fisheries in the Southern Indian Ocean.
