The Purchase from Africa to Africa(PAA) Project has emerged from a political commitment of the Brazilian Government with African countries during the highlevel event dialogue on Food Security, and Fight to Hunger” The objective of PAA programme is to contribute to the food security and income generation of small-scale farmers by implementing local food (cereal and legume) purchase initiatives that complement the work already being done by WFP through P4P. The project is being i mplemented by FAO and WFP. WFP is responsible for procuring surplus produce from FAO-supported small-scale farmers’ organizations and its distribution to the most vulnerable households. The project is being implemented in the Southern Nations Nationalities, Peoples Regional State (SNNPR) in Boricha woreda (production side and and Darra woreda (school feeding program).
