This Volume of the Yearbook of fishery statistics presents world annual production and international trade of fishery commodities for recent years ending in 1998. The tables present, for 117 selected fishery commodities and aggregates, based on the Harmonizes Commodity Description and Coding System (HS), the volume of production, volume and value of world imports and exports, by major trading countries for the most recent 3 years. The Appendixes provide statistics on the apparent consumption of fish and fishery products in 1995-97, the value at first sale of landed catches by groups of species, and trade flow by regions, in 1995-97 and 1997-99 in value and percentage.
