This is the second Annual Report of the FAO Ombuds, covering the first full calendar year of operation. During this period, the focus was on three main areas: addressing work-related concerns brought forward by individuals or groups of personnel; analyzing the root causes of conflict to identify systemic issues for positive organizational change; and raising awareness about the Office and the benefits of collaborative approaches to conflict resolution. The role of the Ombuds is to support a culture at FAO that is respectful and civil, and in which mutual understanding can be reached and differences resolved, through dialogue and fair processes. The Ombuds provides a confidential, neutral and impartial forum to help promote accountability and fair treatment.
