According to Anhui Statistical Yearbook (2003-2012) and the second national land survey data, this article analyzes the current situation of land use and the dynamic change in the total arable land in Tongling City. On the basis of this, using grey relational analysis, this article analyzes the driving forces for arable land changes in Tongling City. Studies show that population growth, the improvement of level of urbanization and the rapid development of the economy are the main driving forces for arable land changes. Based on the findings, the strategies are put forth in order to ensure the dynamic balance of
total arable land.
