Descripción
The Democratic Republic of the Congo is experiencing a deterioration of the humanitarian situation, owing to the escalation of civil conflict particularly in eastern and southern provinces. Already affected by extreme poverty and a fragile security context, this has rendered communities increasingly vulnerable and increased the levels of food insecurity, with 7.7 million people severely food insecure (IPC Phases 3 and 4). In response, FAO is providing emergency agricultural assistance (seeds a nd tools) to displaced families in the Kasai and Tangankyika provinces, mainly targeting women beneficiaries.
