Descripción
La publicación posiciona la economía del cuidado dentro de los sistemas agroalimentarios, promoviendo un enfoque territorial que defiende los derechos humanos de las mujeres rurales y fomenta la igualdad de género. A través de un enfoque multisectorial y multinivel, se integra la colaboración de actores clave, como instituciones gubernamentales, organizaciones de la sociedad civil, el sector privado y organismos internacionales.
El análisis se centra en las disparidades de género en el trabajo de cuidados, particularmente en contextos rurales, evaluando políticas y acciones colectivas para abordar estas desigualdades. Este trabajo se enmarca en la Alianza Continental para la Seguridad Alimentaria y el Desarrollo Sostenible.
Entre las conclusiones, se destaca la urgencia de reconocer el valor económico del trabajo de cuidados, frecuentemente invisibilizado, y la importancia de la corresponsabilidad en estas tareas. La colaboración efectiva entre los actores involucrados es esencial para reducir las brechas de género y construir sociedades más equitativas y sostenibles. Esto contribuye directamente al avance hacia la igualdad de género y el desarrollo sostenible en los territorios rurales de las Américas
The publication positions the care economy within agrifood systems, promoting a territorial approach that defends the human rights of rural women and promotes gender equality. Through a multisectoral and multilevel approach, it integrates the collaboration of key actors, such as government institutions, civil society organizations, the private sector and international agencies. The analysis focuses on gender disparities in care work, particularly in rural contexts, evaluating policies and collective actions to address these inequalities. This work is part of the Continental Alliance for Food Security and Sustainable Development. Among the conclusions, it highlights the urgency of recognizing the economic value of care work, which is often made invisible, and the importance of co-responsibility in these tasks. Effective collaboration between the actors involved is essential to reduce gender gaps and build more equitable and sustainable societies. This contributes directly to progress towards gender equality and sustainable development in the rural territories of the Americas.
