Resumen
Descripción
Forage crops are key for livestock production in semiarid regions. In this environment, forage crops provide essential nutrients for grazing animals, supporting milk, meat, and fiber production, enhance water infiltration and retention, mitigating the impacts of drought, provide habitat and food for a range of wildlife, contributing to several ecosystem services. Understanding the ecophysiology forage crops in the semiarid may help to improve productivity, resilience, and resource-use efficiency. This chapter explores the physiological and ecological mechanisms that affect the growth, development, and adaptation of forage species in semiarid. environments
