Veterinarians need to know which services face inelastic or elastic demand to successfully raise revenues to cover rising costs or to profitably increase market share. This study documents our attempts to model market demand for the service that accounts for the largest share of veterinary revenue—canine wellness visits—and to provide insights about the patronage-alienating effects of the sector’s recent aggressive pricing strategies.
