The objective of this paper was to provide a timely and indicative global overview of the impacts of COVID-19 on fisheries and aquaculture as well as to share examples of good practice and collate suggestions for interventions that may inform and guide the development of mitigation measures. This was achieved through prompt responses to questionnaires distributed to the secretariats of the RFBs’ network. However, the situation is constantly evolving. As such, in order to understand the full impact of COVID-19 on fisheries and aquaculture, further assessments both at a regional and country level will be required.
