In the paper the activities undertaken by a group of agricultural producers as a manifestation of innovative
activities were presented. The study was carried out in the province of Podkarpackie province among producers
cereal grains and oilseeds using the method of questionnaire, interview with randomly selected members of
the group in 2012. The paper argues that undertaking joint initiatives allows for achieving tangible benefits
and opportunities to gain competitive advantage. Research showed that horizontal integration in apart from
the undoubted benefits, is associated with numerous difficulties, the most important of which is the lack of
confidence among farmers and misunderstandings and conflicts.
