| dc.description | The worst-case scenario of Famine is unfolding in the Gaza Strip, as reported by the latest IPC Alert in July 2025. Between May and September 2025, an estimated 2.1 million people are projected to face severe acute food insecurity (IPC Phase 3 or above), with nearly 469 500 facing catastrophic conditions (IPC Phase 5). The conflict in the Gaza Strip has displaced nearly 2 million people, decimated livelihoods, destroyed infrastructure, and caused the collapse of the agricultural sector. As a result, the population is now almost entirely dependent on humanitarian aid. However, border blockades and restricted humanitarian access have drastically constrained the availability of food and other essential goods within the Gaza Strip. | |
