This study aims to understand the historical development of the savings movement in Zimbabwe, and to highlight the different factors, at national and institutional level, which have prompted the SHDF to implement its own microcredit scheme, after decades of mobilization of savings. Secondly, it will assess the impact of this introduction on the vision, organisation and performance of the institution, as well as on the savings club members.
