dc.descriptionFrom May 31 to June 3, 2023, CATIE and partners hosted the VIII Scientific Wallace Conference, part of a series initiated in 2002 for in-depth discussions on science and technology strategies related to agriculture, natural resources, and biodiversity conservation in the tropics. The conference focused on the pivotal theme of transforming food systems in LAC. Delving into six thematic areas, participants examined both opportunities and challenges encountered by LAC’s food systems. This document provides a compilation of the submitted abstracts and a summarized versions of keynote speeches. Its primary aim is to contribute to the dissemination of the knowledge and research shared within the framework of the conference.
dc.descriptionDel 31 de mayo al 3 de junio de 2023, CATIE y sus socios organizaron la VIII Conferencia Científica Wallace, como parte de una serie iniciada en 2002 para debatir estrategias científicas y tecnológicas relacionadas con la agricultura, los recursos naturales y la conservación de la biodiversidad en los trópicos. La VIII Conferencia se centró en el tema crucial de la transformación de los sistemas alimentarios en LAC. Al explorar seis áreas temáticas, los participantes examinaron tanto las oportunidades como los desafíos enfrentados por los sistemas alimentarios en esta región. Este documento proporciona una compilación de los resúmenes presentados y versiones resumidas de las ponencias magistrales. Su objetivo principal es contribuir a la difusión del conocimiento e investigación compartidos dentro del marco de la conferencia.
