Resumen
Descripción
Lebanon is facing one of the most severe economic crises in the world in addition to a protracted refugee crisis. Inflation has skyrocketed and unemployment has reached an all-time high. Year-on-year food prices have doubled, eroding the purchasing power of all families in Lebanon. Four in ten of the people projected to be acutely food insecure in Lebanon in 2023 live in rural areas. Humanitarian response to support local food producers is critical to prevent a further deterioration in the food security situation. However, less than 1 percent of humanitarian funding to food sectors goes to support the agricultural livelihoods of families in need.
