dc.descriptionThe second session of the Committee on Aquaculture was held in Rome, Italy from 13 to 16 June 2000. The session reviewed the status of aquaculture in the region and the activities of the four networks linked to the Committee. However, the main focus of attention centered on the results of the Consultation on the Application of Article 9 of the FAO CCRF in the Mediterranean Region, and on its Action Plan, which was endorsed by the Committee. Other items discussed were the proposed programme 2000- 2002, also linked to the adoption of the GFCM autonomous budget. The Committee requested to increase attention in support of the programmes of this Committee.
