dc.descriptionIn 2007, APEC leaders set a goal to increase forest cover in the APEC region by at least 20 million hectares by 2020. In September 2011, China hosted the First APEC Meeting of Ministers Responsible for Forestry in Beijing, China to advance region-wide cooperation in the sector. This document was produced as a reference paper for the ministerial discussions. It includes an overview of forest resources and products, progress made so far towards sustainable forest management, and priorities and out look for the future for the APEC region.
