Descripción
The open and airy temporary dormitories are designed to t into the local environment and can provide some privacy and storage space for twenty-ve students, many of which arrive in need of immediate housing. The building is constructed with local materials that are well known to inhabitants insuring that it is easy and affordable to maintain.</p> This poster is one of a selection of entries from the TREEHOUSING International Wood Design Competition that was run by FAO and DBR | Design Build Resea rch School on the occasion of the XIV World Forestry Congress in Durban, South Africa, in September 2015.The competition challenged architecture students, professional architects and designers to develop innovative and sustainable wood housing and urban building solutions.
