Primer registro de Pulvinaria floccifera (westwood, 1870) (Hemiptera: coccomorpha: coccidae), para Cuba, con una clave para las especies del género registradas en el país

dc.descriptionLa escama blanda algodonosa Pulvinaria floccifera (Westwood, 1870) (Hemiptera: Coccomorpha: Coccidae) se registra por primera vez para Cuba. Los ejemplares fueron recolectados en dos localidades de la Ciénaga de Majaguillar, al noreste de la provincia de Matanzas. El material testigo fue depositado en la Colección Zoológica del Instituto de Ecología y Sistemática (CZACC). Este cóccido fue ilustrado basado en el material recolectado en este estudio. Se ofrece una clave taxonómica para separar las especies del género Pulvinaria Targioni Tozzetti, 1866, registradas en Cuba. Esta especie es polífaga e introducida en el país. Callophyllaceae y Calophyllum antillanum constituyen nuevos registros de familia y especie de hospedante para esta escama blanda.
