The aim of the study was to evaluate the use of instruments to support the development of agriculture
and rural areas in Poland available in the RDP 2007-2013 under priority axis implementing the objectives
of sustainable development. The article presents the issues regarding the use of instruments co-financed from
EU budget in the context of sustainable development of rural areas on the example of the RDP 2007-2013.
The concept of sustainable development in rural areas assumes the support their diversified business activity
and its shaping to preserve environment resources and values, ensure an improvement of living conditions
as well as development of social and cultural functions.
